Catskill Lake Home Deck

The original dock was used to launch canoes and fishing boats, and in drier weather you ran the risk of scraping the bottom of the boats. The dock approach was extended further out into the water and the dock surface doubled to comfortably seat 8 or more to be used for sunning or entertaining while watching the sun set over the trees across the lake. Wild huckleberry bushes along the water’s edge create natural screening. At the beginning of summer, bald eagles were spotted overhead, circling the lake in search of easy prey.
