171 Central Parkway

This is the story of my renovation of a 1929 colonial in Westchester County, New York, which I purchased in May 2010.

It had been neglected for many years. In fact, my building inspection noted that almost everything in the house needed to be replaced. Why I didn’t run I don’t know. This would be my first renovation solely on my own.

With four months, I had totally redone the exterior, which consisted of replacing the siding, roof, gutters and windows.

Within 10 months I had completely renovated the interior of the house, with the exception of the kitchen (now complete) and basement (now in progress).

Now I have two projects left to complete – the backyard and basement – both of which you will be able to follow with weekly progress pictures and video updates.
